Dennis offers sweeping bay beaches, world-class summer theater at the Cape Playhouse, and classic Cape cottages set among cranberry bogs.
Dennis runs across the Mid-Cape from Cape Cod Bay to Nantucket Sound, with five villages: Dennis Village, East Dennis, South Dennis, West Dennis and Dennis Port. The Bass River forms much of its western border with Yarmouth.
The north side along Route 6A has captains' houses, salt marsh and bay beaches like Mayflower and Corporation Beach, known for wide tidal flats at low tide. The south side offers beach neighborhoods and cottages near West Dennis Beach and Dennis Port, which are popular with second-home buyers and rental investors.
Dennis is home to the Cape Playhouse, one of the oldest professional summer theaters in the country, and the Cape Cinema next door. Scargo Tower looks out over Scargo Lake and the bay, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail begins in South Dennis.
