About Truro
Living in Truro
Truro is one of the most sparsely settled towns on Cape Cod, cherished for its rolling Highland bluffs, vast National Seashore land, and extraordinary solitude.
Truro is the least populated town on Cape Cod, stretched between Wellfleet and Provincetown on the narrow Outer Cape. Much of its land lies within the Cape Cod National Seashore, which keeps large areas of dunes, heath and beach permanently open.
Homes are spread out and often private: houses tucked into the hills along the Pamet River valley, bayside homes and cottages in North Truro and Corn Hill, and properties with long views over the dunes and ocean. Building is limited by the National Seashore and local zoning, which shapes what is available.
Highland Light, also known as Cape Cod Light, stands on the bluffs above the Atlantic, and Head of the Meadow Beach is one of the town's ocean beaches. Truro Center has a small cluster of shops, and Provincetown is a short drive north.

Buyer Questions
Buying a Home in Truro
Why is Truro so undeveloped?
A large share of Truro's land is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, and town zoning limits development, so the town keeps wide areas of dunes, heath and protected beach.
What are the main areas of Truro?
Truro includes Truro Center and the Pamet River valley, North Truro near Highland Light, and bayside areas such as Corn Hill on Cape Cod Bay.
How far is Truro from Provincetown?
Truro borders Provincetown, so the shops, restaurants and harbor in Provincetown are a short drive from most Truro homes.
