About Yarmouth
Living in Yarmouth
Yarmouth stretches from warm Bass River estuary to the cold Atlantic shore, offering diverse waterfront living and some of the Cape's finest seafood.
Yarmouth sits in the heart of the Mid-Cape between Barnstable and Dennis, reaching from Cape Cod Bay to Nantucket Sound. Its main villages are Yarmouth Port on the north side and South Yarmouth, West Yarmouth and the Bass River area on the south.
Yarmouth Port along Route 6A is known as the Captains' Mile for its line of historic sea captains' homes. The south side is more varied, with beach neighborhoods near Seagull and Bass River beaches, homes along the Bass River and its coves, and a wide range of price points that make Yarmouth one of the more accessible Mid-Cape towns.
Gray's Beach and the Bass Hole Boardwalk stretch out over the salt marsh on the bay side, and the Bass River offers protected boating to Nantucket Sound. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox play Cape League baseball in summer.
