Provincetown is Cape Cod's vibrant tip — a celebrated arts colony, LGBTQ+ destination, and historic Pilgrim landing site surrounded by National Seashore and open ocean.
Provincetown sits at the very tip of Cape Cod, where the Pilgrims first anchored in 1620 and signed the Mayflower Compact before moving on to Plymouth. The Pilgrim Monument still marks that history above the town.
Most housing is clustered along Commercial Street and Bradford Street between the West End and East End, with many historic homes divided into condominiums. Buyers can find waterfront condos on the harbor, cottages on the side streets and a limited number of single-family homes, with much of the surrounding land protected in the Province Lands of the National Seashore.
Provincetown is one of the oldest continuous art colonies in the country, home to the Provincetown Art Association and Museum and dozens of galleries. Race Point and Herring Cove beaches face open ocean, whale watches leave for Stellwagen Bank, and seasonal fast ferries connect the harbor to Boston.
