Harwich is a charming seaside town known for its cranberry bogs, beautiful beaches, and the lively Harwich Port village center.
Harwich sits on the Lower Cape between Dennis and Chatham, with Nantucket Sound to the south and a chain of ponds and cranberry bogs inland. Its seven villages include Harwich Center, Harwich Port, West, East, North and South Harwich, and Pleasant Lake.
Harwich Port is the summer heart of the town, with a walkable main street and beach neighborhoods on Nantucket Sound. Inland, homes sit near cranberry bogs and freshwater ponds such as Long Pond and Hinckleys Pond, and East Harwich borders Pleasant Bay.
Harwich has three harbors: Saquatucket, Wychmere and Allen. Red River Beach is one of its main Sound beaches, the Cape Cod Rail Trail and its branch to Chatham run through town, and the Harwich Mariners play Cape League baseball at Whitehouse Field.
